Chelsea have had a 'major offer' for Javier Pastore rejected, Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has claimed.
Javier Pastore could be on his way out of Palermo this summer
The Blues are keen to bolster their Premier League title challenge ahead of next season and are believed to be interested in luring Brazilian winger Neymar to the club. However, they are also after a creative central midfielder and 21-year-old Pastore seemingly fits the bill.
"Chelsea was a club that we had a major offer from,'' Zamparini told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser. ''But it did not reach the minimum figure that we set for a player of his quality.
"If someone wants to buy Pastore, the price is €50 million (£44 million). There are five or six clubs also interested, including Man City and big clubs from Spain and Italy but so far there has been nothing from them."
Pastore has scored 11 goals in 35 games for Palermo this season, and could be sold by the club in order to 'balance the books'.
