Kenny Dalglish has confirmed that he will look to add to the Liverpool squad during January after being given the green light by the club's owners.
Luis Suarez: Strongly linked with Liverpool
With the budget set to be swelled by the sale of Ryan Babel to Hoffenheim, Dalglish is set to splash out in order to revive the Reds' fortunes.
He remained tight-lipped over a move for Ajax striker Luis Suarez, who has been heavily linked with the club this week.
"We had a positive meeting yesterday to discuss many things, including transfers," Dalglish said. "There's no problem as long as we're responsible we can go and look for players, and try to sign players.
"But we're not going to sit and give names, or comment on every question answered about an individual player. We're certainly not going to talk about sums of money. We'll try and spend the club's money as diligently as I spend my own."
Dalglish insists that Babel's Liverpool career is not dead if he decides to spurn a move to the Bundesliga in order to battle for a first-team place at Anfield. "They accepted a bid from Hoffenheim," he said.
"Ryan is considering what he wants to do, which is his right. He trained yesterday as if the conversation had never happened, so that's no problem for us. If he's here, he won't be walking about sulking, he'll be treated the same as everyone else."
